BLACK HISTORY MONTH EVENTS AT JEFFERSON NATIONAL EXPANSION MEMORIAL  

Jefferson National Expansion Memorial will host a series of events in February to celebrate Black History Month, including trial re-enactments, films, children's readings, and more.

ULYSSES S. GRANT AND SAMUEL CLEMENS

In 1886 Ulysses S. Grant made the wise decision of having Samuel Clemens, better known as Mark Twain, publish the Personal Memoirs of U.S. Grant, one of the best military commentaries of the Civil War ever written.

We invite you to learn more about civil rights by printing a downloadable Word Match from the Dred Scott Heritage Foundation's Activity and Coloring Book, which can be purchased at the Old Courthouse or in our online store.  We have also included an answer key so you can see how well you did!
