December Seasonal Recipe

As the year comes to a close and winter quickly approaches, let us help you stay warm with this hearty stew recipe. We also invite you to spread the holiday spirit by sharing it with your friends and family.

Baked Beef Stew

2 lbs. boneless beef chuck, cut into cubes
1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. black pepper
3 Tbs. vegetable oil
1 cup beef stock
2 cups stewed tomatoes
1 cup poatoes, cubed
1 cup onions, chopped
1 cup carrots, chopped
1/4 cup celery, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
4 Tbs. catsup
1 Tbs. Worcestershire sauce
 
Toss beef cubes in the flour mixed with salt and pepper. Reserve leftover flour. In a large skillet heat vegetable oil and brown beef cubes. Pour into a Dutch oven or baking dish with lid. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and bake in 325 degree F oven for one hour. Remove from oven and stir in leftover flour. Return to oven for another hour. Serve with hot cornbread.
